Website rebuild and SEO/AEO plan

A fast, mobile-first site that turns South Maui searches into quote requests, plus a 90-day program to win the map pack and AI answers.

  1. 01More leads

More calls and quote requests from the same traffic

  2. 02Top 3

Map-pack rankings for South Maui cleaning searches

  3. 03The answer

Named when people ask an AI assistant who to hire

Summary

Kihei Clean already has the hard parts: real reviews, a clear service area and a booking system (Launch27). The website hides them. We recommend rebuilding it as a fast, mobile-first site that sends visitors straight to the quote or booking flow. Alongside the rebuild, we would run a 90-day SEO and AEO (answer engine optimization) program.

SEO

About 43 URLs are in the sitemap, and roughly half are test, cart, duplicate or private pages. Service pages compete with each other. The site has no LocalBusiness schema, and 20 of the 29 homepage images have no alt text.

Conversion

Every "Contact Us" button leads to a long form. That form opens by saying the company is not taking one-time regular or deep cleans, yet the dropdown still offers "Deep Cleaning." No page shows a price or a starting price.

Mobile

The first screen on a phone shows a headline, a paragraph and "Contact Us." There is no tap-to-call, no rating and no photo of real work. Zooming is disabled, and the page makes about 90 requests (1.3 MB) on a WordPress/Divi stack.

The rebuild targets three outcomes: more calls and quote requests from the same traffic, top-3 map-pack rankings for South Maui cleaning searches, and Kihei Clean named as the answer when people ask an AI assistant who to hire.

What we found

We checked the live site on October 20, 2026 on desktop and at iPhone width (375 px). The table is ordered by impact.

Area Issue Evidence on the live site Fix in the rebuild
Conversion The contact page turns people away /book redirects to /contact, which opens by saying “We are not currently accepting clients looking for one-time regular or deep cleanings”. The form still lists Deep Cleaning. Route each visitor by intent: recurring, vacation rental, move-out or construction. Only show services that are open.
Conversion No prices Residential cleaning is hourly with 4- or 6-hour minimums, but no rate is shown. No other page shows pricing either. Add “starting at” prices and a simple estimator by bedroom and bathroom count.
Conversion Long form, one route in 11 required fields, including square footage and service date, before any reply. Short first step (service, beds/baths, ZIP, phone), with tap-to-call and text as alternatives.
Mobile Weak first screen Hero is a headline, a paragraph and “Contact Us”. There is no phone button, rating or photo of real work. Sticky bottom bar with Call, Text and Get a quote. Show the star rating and review count in the hero.
Mobile Zoom disabled The viewport meta sets user-scalable=0 and maximum-scale=1. Allow zoom, which is also an accessibility (WCAG) requirement.
Speed Heavy stack WordPress with Divi and 9 plugins (WooCommerce and Subscriptions included), about 90 requests and 1.3 MB on the homepage. DOM loaded at about 3.6 s. Static Astro build on a CDN. Target LCP under 2.0 s on 4G.
Indexing Junk and private URLs in the sitemap The sitemap lists /test/, /completed-cleaning-form-test/, /coming-soon/, /cart/, /checkout/, /contact-3/, /book-now-2/, and client unit pages under /team/vr/. Remove them, set noindex where needed, and put the team area behind login.
Indexing Duplicate service pages /house-cleaning/, /condo-cleaning/, /residential-cleaning-kihei/ and /residential-cleaning/ overlap. So do /post-construction-cleanup/ vs /post-construction-cleaning/ and /professional-window-cleaning/ vs /window-cleaning/. One page per service, with 301 redirects from the duplicates.
Indexing Leftover shop sitemaps product-sitemap.xml and product_cat-sitemap.xml were last updated in 2021. Drop WooCommerce. Billing stays in Launch27.
On-page Typos in titles and meta The vacation rental title reads “Vaction”. The homepage meta description reads “serices”. New titles and meta descriptions for every page.
On-page Thin area pages The Wailea page is about 550 words, mostly the same template as the other area pages, and names no local landmarks. Rewrite area pages with local detail, photos and reviews from that area.
On-page Images 20 of the 29 homepage images have no alt text. Descriptive alt text, served as WebP/AVIF.
Schema No business markup Only WebPage, ImageObject, BreadcrumbList and WebSite are marked up (from Yoast). HouseCleaningService (LocalBusiness), Service, FAQPage, Review and AggregateRating, and Organization with sameAs links.
AEO The FAQ answers account questions, not buying questions 14 questions, such as how to add a credit card. None asks about price, what a turnover includes, or service areas. A buyer-intent FAQ hub, with short answers repeated on each service page.
Trust Reviews hidden The Google reviews link sits in the footer, and the homepage shows one testimonial. Live review widget, review count in the hero, and reviews by area.

Conversion and mobile

Every page will lead to one of three actions: call, text or get a quote. On a phone, all three stay one tap away. Both homepage concepts (Option A and Option B) show this working.

Mobile first screen (home and every service page)

The quote flow

  1. Pick a service from four cards: Recurring home, Vacation rental, Move-out, Post-construction. Only services Kihei Clean is accepting appear. When a service is paused, the card says so and offers a waitlist.
  2. Size the home with steppers for bedrooms and bathrooms, a ZIP check against the service area, and a “starting at” price that updates as they choose.
  3. Enter contact details: name, mobile and permission to text. We save the lead at this point, before the optional fields.
  4. Add details (optional): address, square footage, preferred date and photos.
  5. Confirmation promises a reply time (for example, “We text back within 2 business hours”). For vacation rental clients, it also links to the onboarding packet and linen policy.

Existing clients book and pay in Launch27, so the “Customer login” link moves to a small header link instead of competing with the quote button. Vacation rental owners and property managers get a separate “Owners” page with turnover checklists, linen program details, inspection photos and a “Request a walkthrough” call to action, because they decide differently from homeowners.

Mobile standards we will hold the build to: Core Web Vitals in the green (LCP < 2.5 s, INP < 200 ms, CLS < 0.1), tap targets of at least 44 px, readable text without zooming, zoom allowed, and forms using the right keyboards (tel, email, numeric).

Site structure

The rebuild cuts the site to about 20 pages, each with a single job. Every old URL is redirected, so existing rankings and links carry over.

Services and areas link to each other, so each “service in area” search has a strong page to land on. Owners and property managers get their own page instead of sharing the homeowner path.

SEO plan

Local cleaning searches are won mostly in the Google map pack. Three things decide who appears there: Google Business Profile strength, reviews, and a site whose pages match the search. The plan covers all three, in this order.

1. Technical foundation (at launch)

2. On-page

3. Local SEO

4. Ongoing (monthly)

AEO plan

Answer engines (Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Siri and Alexa) quote businesses whose facts are clear, consistent and confirmed in more than one place. The goal is for Kihei Clean to be the name these tools give when someone asks “Who’s a good vacation rental cleaner in Kihei?” or “How much does a move-out clean cost on Maui?”

1. Make the facts machine-readable

2. Write in answer format

3. Earn mentions outside the site

4. Track it

Content plan

The first 12 articles each answer one question buyers already ask. Each one links to the matching service page and its quote form. Two go out each month after launch, highest-value first. The search volumes on Maui are small, so we pick topics by buyer intent, not by volume.

Roadmap

The new site launches at the start of week 9. Business Profile and review work starts on day one, because the map pack responds faster than organic rankings.

After day 90, the monthly retainer continues the articles, review requests, citation upkeep and AEO tracking, with a report each month.

Measurement

We capture baselines in week 1, before anything changes, and report monthly against them. The targets are starting points to confirm once the baseline numbers are in.
